The Darkest Hour - 2011
Over the past few years the housing market has reached an all time high of foreclosure rates resulting in housing values plummeting. In Georgia an average of one in every 343 homes being forced to foreclose. Despite these increasing rates the construction of new subdivisions continues to spring up and are left sitting empty.
Exploring these partially constructed suburban developments at night results in the suspension of their emptiness and freezing the progress of each home. With the combination of artificial light from the street lamps and long exposure times, the natural scene becomes distorted, and the absurdity of the continual construction of homes during an economic crisis becomes darkly clear.
